Top Of The Hill Team Thanks Contributors, Recaps Year
The Top of the Hill Team — the Staples boys soccer booster club — sends this message to all Wrecker alumni, friends, players and families:
The Top of the Hill Team would like to thank all of our contributors this season. We are pleased that so many of our Staples soccer alumni, parents and friends recognize the many benefits that their generous contributions make to the program. A few of this year’s highlights include:
- Funding of equipment that allowed for the live streaming of 8 Wreckers matches, with nearly 1,000 views in total over the course of the season. The final match against Norwalk drew over 100 Staples fans, who viewed from the comfort of their homes – or perhaps at work – from as far away as England and Thailand. We would like to publicly thank Matt Hodes who facilitated the purchase of the equipment, filmed the games and posted the highlights on YouTube. Matt is graduating this spring, and he will be missed.
- TOTH also provided stipends for additional coaches on the freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams, ensuring our boys had the leadership and expertise necessary to grow as young men and remain a top program in the FCIAC and state.
- Most recently, in keeping with our mission of helping those in the Staples soccer family who face challenging life circumstances, TOTH made a donation to the Austin Hood Foundation. As Dan Woog often says, “there’s more to soccer than soccer. ” Our boys on all 3 squads have demonstrated that this year, in their support of the Hood family.
Thanks again for being such an important part of Staples soccer. We look forward to supporting our boys in the coming years, and hope we can count on you to continue your involvement in the program. We also encourage you to share any ideas you have that we might be able to support through TOTH. You can contact us with your ideas at: TOTHBoard@gmail.com.
See you on The Hill!
