Memorial Services Set For Jon Walker ’88

A memorial service for Jon Walker ’88 is set for this Sunday (February 5), 2 p.m. at Temple Israel in Westport. Many of Jon’s teammates, friends and fans plan to attend.

The family welcomes visitors immediately following the memorial service, until 8 p.m., and on Monday (February 6) from 12 to 3 p.m. There is also a wake on Monday from 4-9 p.m., at the Lesko Funeral Home (1209 Post Road, Fairfield). A prayer service is set for Tuesday (February 7), at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 S. Pine Creek Road, Fairfield), followed by burial at Oaklawn Cemetery, Bronson Road, Fairfield. Shiva will be observed on Tuesday (February 7) from 6-9 p.m. All visitation and shiva takes place at the home of his brother Sam Walker, 18 Lakeside Drive, Weston.

Tributes continue to pour in for the former Staples and Skidmore College star. Common themes include Jon’s tremendous athletic talent, great sense of humor, loyalty and friendship.

He is survived by his wife Bridget, daughter Ellery, son William, brother Sam, sister-in-law Stacey and their children Zander and Cobie, and his mother Sandra. He was predeceased by his father Howard.
