Job Available: Staples Soccer Seeks Videographer

The Staples boys soccer program is looking for one good videographer.

Actually, one great one.

The paid position is for the 2013 fall season. The videographer has a variety of very important responsibilities:

  • Filming all matches (traveling with the team to away games)
  • Creating a weekly highlight video, plus one for each post-season match, and posting them on YouTube
  • Setting up the livestream so that fans around the world can watch the Wreckers in real time.

“This is a great job,” says head coach Dan Woog. “It’s a chance to make your mark as a creative videographer, and get your work seen by thousands of people.” Sam Bender’s video of Brendan Lesch’s bicycle kick has gotten over 295,000 views.

Woog says that the ideal candidate has a passion for videography, plenty of creativity, an understanding of soccer, the ability to multi-task, and excellent time management skills.

Staples soccer provides the equipment. Recent graduate Matt Hodes will train his replacement this summer.

This will be the 5th year the Top of the Hill Team booster club has funded the position. The videographer can earn extra money by making highlight videos for players applying to college.

“Sam set the standard, and Matt kept it going,” Woog says. “Now we’re looking to kick our video to the next level.”
