Jack Scott Rolls In Octathlon Round 2

When Round 2 of the Octathlon of Champions concluded today, Jack Scott had leapfrogged from last place to 2nd.

The sophomore won the overall event — a FIFA Xbox tournament — worth 10 points. He added another 5 for allowing the least number of goals.

The Octathlon — open to all returning varsity players, as well as juniors on last fall’s JV team — features a different event every month. Each competition is designed by a different junior. Next month’s event: a 5K race.

Noah Bender racked up 10 points (5 each for finishing 2nd and scoring the most goals).

Joe Greenwald — who organized and hosted the event — earned 5 points for best goal (a sweet half-volley, upper 90).

All players who participated earned 1 point. Prizes (soccer gear) will be awarded in August, after the 8th round.

The standings after 2 rounds:

Ryan Petersen: 22
Jack Scott: 17
Noah Bender: 15
James Hickok: 11
Joe Greenwald: 7
Jon Denowitz: 3
Ethan Bradeen, Walker Marsh: 2
Harry Hlawitschka, Sam Koenig, Jeff Krieger, Matt Liebergall, Tucker Rizzi, Greg Shikowitz, Andrew Travers: 1

Three big point winners — Noah Bender, Joe Greenwald and Jack Scott — enjoy the action this afternoon.

Ryan Petersen is a very intense FIFA player.
