Car Wash Clears $2,134

The Staples boys soccer car wash brought in $2,134 today — not bad at all, considering the new, semi-hidden location (behind Saugatuck Congregational Church), and the threatening weather.  Rain rolled in at 3:59 p.m. — 1 minute before the end.

The Wreckers were helped by creative marketing along the Post Road — as demonstrated by Gabe Schindler, Max Hoberman, Jake Malowitz and Alex Tonsberg (below).

Head coach Dan Woog thanked all the players and parents who participated — particularly chairman Stuart McCarthy P’10, who had the unenviable tasks of finding an environmentally friendly location, and making sure the players actually washed cars.  Woog also thanked all the drivers who stopped by, and left with shining vehicles.

Freshman Greg Salamone was named Most Valuable Car Washer.
