Bosnia Captures Watermelon Cup Crown

Two goals by Jordan McNair broke open a tight match in tonight’s Watermelon Cup finals.

Bosnia and Herzogovina — down 1-0 and then tied 2-2 — put on a strong 2nd half, downing USA 5-2.

Kyle Zajec fed Noah Bender for an early USA lead. But McNair assisted on Gabe Pensak’s goal; then the duo reversed roles for a 2-1 lead. Zajec came right back, hitting Daniel Perez-Elorza to draw level.

McNair’s go-ahead and insurance tallies were assisted by Joe Pravder and Gabe Pensak. Pravder tallied in the waning seconds. Graham Gudis made several key saves in goal, to secure the win.

Congratulations to the victors: Gudis, McNair, Pensak, Pravder, Kenji Goto, Victor Kolbin, Jake Reiner and Sebastian Wick.
