7 Wreckers Head To Regionals
Seven Staples soccer players are on 3 Beachside Soccer Club teams that won state premier cup championships today. All head to the US Youth Soccer Region I tournament next month, in Pennsylvania.
Dylan Evans and Ben Root’s U-17 team trailed FSA 3-1 with 15 minutes to go. They rallied to tie. Then — after a scoreless overtime — they won 5-4 on penalty kicks.
Aaron Liu, Jake Malowitz and Taylor McNair are defenders on Beachside’s U-16 side. They battled FSA to a 0-0 draw in regulation. Beachside scored 1st in overtime, but FSA drew even on a penalty kick. The game also went to penalties; again Beachside won 5-4. Malowitz converted his shot.
The U-15’s, with Diego Alanis and Harry Birch, won 7-1 over FSA.
