Ghana Players Put Preston Hirten Tournament Donations To Great Use

The hundreds of soccer balls, shoes, shorts, jerseys and other gear donated last summer at the annual Preston Hirten Tournament have made their way to Ghana.

There — in the country where Preston volunteered just 4 months before he died — they are finding new life.

Preston’s parents and sisters are grateful for the generosity of Preston’s teammates and friends throughout Fairfield County and in Virginia, and the Staples players who have followed him on Loeffler Field.

And — like all of us — they look forward to the 2014 event.

Some of the donated jerseys find new life in Ghana.
