Winning the 1969 State Championship 2-0. over Hartford Public. Semifinal win over Wethersfield. Great team, great guys!

Going unscored upon by any Connecticut team and posting 18 shutouts on our way to the State Championship in 1970; Reno Bauman's sudden death goal in overtime semi-final State Tournament game against Wethersfield on our way to the 1969 State Title; Coming back from 2-0 to beat Brian McMahon 4-2 in their house in 1969; Being able to admire the beauty of the passing between Tim Hunter, Steve McCoy, Dale Hollingsworth, Mark McGuire and Fred Cantor just before someone put the ball in the back of our opponent's net; Having the likes of Sandy Wilder, Steve Levin, Scott Williamson, Neil Brickley, Charlie Russell and Olaf Neilson in front of me – very reassuring to a goalkeeper….

I'm not sure I could pick an individual memory from my senior season, but I can narrow it down to the post-season; where every game was life-or-death for not only 26 of our seasons, but, for 17, of us, our Staples Soccer careers. I think maybe the best moment was Mike Smith's winning PK in the state semis against Hall, because it was the last time I knew I had 1 more practice, 1 more game. The profound sense of relief that it wasn't quite over yet mixed with the anticipation of moving on to the state finals, and the excitement of a pk shootout win made for an awesome bus trip home.

Got the assist on the winning goal in the counties and states senior year to cap an 18-0-1 season, the greatest team of all time.

Being able to be part of such a wonderful program, and getting to meet so many talented, intelligent, creative, wonderful people.
